"My role was to treat patients, was to organise the evacuation of them. Certainly I wasn't the only medical personnel. I had medics there and I had the soldiers acting as stretcher bearers but my primary role as the only medical officer was to make sure that I got people out of there alive. So I wasn't focused on that, on the danger at all. In fact it took people to remind me that in fact perhaps you should get your head down but I realised in fact yes there was an element of danger."
