Peacekeeping  1947 - 2001 A woman member of the Military Police in the field, part of the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).


Over the past 100 years the Australian Defence Force has undergone major changes. These days the emphasis is on preventing, not waging war. It is also about the battle of the hearts and minds and the local population - something Australian troops in any war have never had a problem winning.
