Peacekeeping A woman member of the Military Police in the field, part of the Australian contingent to the Unified Task Force in Somalia (UNITAF).
Peacekeeping 1947-2001

The role is different, but the danger is still clear and present. The same themes that run through 100 years of conflict, mateship, homesickness, pride, fair play and humour, are just as apparent in our stories about Peacekeeping. The tradition of sending artists to capture images of trouble spots is also continued. The results are stark reminders that the pen may be mightier than the sword, but the artist's brush can be more powerful than both.
